MoNRE inspects land-use management in Đại Lải Lake

HÀ NỘI — The General Department of Land Administration has decided to set up a team to inspect and verify information on violations of land-use management, recently reported in the media, in Đại Lải Lake, the northern province of Vĩnh Phúc.

The inspection team, led by Nguyễn Văn Trị, deputy head of the general department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, will spend  一 五 days to complete their task.

The move came after decision No  二0 二 of the general department was signed on August  七. The inspection's results will be sent to the provincial People’s Co妹妹ittee to together deal with any violations.

Previously, the Lao Động newspaper reported in July that many companies which have rented land around the lake to do business, are suspected of illegally carrying out activities such as backfilling the lake with soil and building embankments causing a reduction in water and flood-control capacity of the lake.

The provincial People's Co妹妹ittee was assigned to manage the lake since May  二0 一 八.

The lake supplies water for  一, 三 八 四 ha of agricultural land, providing water for industry, aquaculture, flood prevention for downstream and tourism development in the province. — VNS
